Just hit 500 hours using a free AI art tool for my small business
I was checking my account stats for the free plan of a tool called 'DreamBrush' and saw I'd used it for exactly 500 hours since I started six months ago. That's a full month of work time I didn't have to pay an artist for, just making my own logos and social media posts. When did a free AI tool become a core part of your work day?

Saw a piece about this in a tech newsletter last week. They called it the "free tier creep" where these tools become essential before you even notice. Honestly, it's a bit wild how fast we all got used to it. My own workflow would fall apart without a couple of these free apps now.

My buddy's whole team got locked out of their project board last month when a free tool changed its limits. They had to scramble for two days to rebuild everything. Total nightmare scenario.

Heard about a friend's small design shop that built their whole client feedback system on a free platform. The company suddenly announced they were shutting down that service with only 30 days notice. The team spent weeks in total panic mode, exporting data and trying to teach clients a whole new system before the clock ran out. It really showed how building your work on someone else's free land can leave you totally stranded.

Our team switched to a self-hosted Kanban board after a similar scare. It was a pain to set up but now we own the data completely.
