Rant: Stop acting like frozen chicken wings are the same as fresh in an air fryer
I read a post yesterday from someone claiming frozen wings come out just as crispy as fresh ones and I nearly lost it. I tried it myself last week with a bag from Costco, tossed them in at 380 for 25 minutes, and they came out a soggy mess with weird rubbery spots. Fresh wings with a dry brine overnight give you that actual crunchy skin in 20 minutes flat. The difference is night and day and anyone saying otherwise hasn't cooked enough wings. Has anyone else here tested both side by side and ended up throwing the frozen batch in the trash?

Whoa hold on, I think you might be running your air fryer a little too hot if you're getting rubbery spots at 380. Frozen wings actually need a lower temp first to render the fat, then a high blast to crisp up. I do 360 for 20 minutes, shake them, then 400 for 10 more and they come out crunchy every time. The brine is definitely better for fresh wings, but frozen can work if you tweak the method a bit.

Funny how the right temp makes all the difference in everything, not just cooking.
