Spent $80 on a 'viral' Instagram growth course and all I got was bots following me for 3 days
The course promised real engagement from a hidden algorithm hack but it was just a bunch of fake accounts that liked one post then vanished, has anyone else fallen for one of those paid advertising gurus promising to crack the TikTok algorithm?

Did you also pay $80 to learn that the "hidden algorithm hack" is just a guy named Dave in his mom's basement running 50 burner accounts? I fell for one of those TikTok guru things last year and my only "growth" was learning that bots are terrible conversationalists, they never laugh at your self-deprecating jokes about wasting money. The worst part is I actually watched all the videos thinking "maybe the real engagement was the friends we made along the way" but nope, it was just a bunch of ghost accounts that dipped faster than my motivation to finish the course. At least you got bots for three days, mine followed me for like six hours before Instagram purged them all and I was back to zero followers like I just got dumped by a digital ghost. I swear half these gurus went to the same school of "how to sell dreams to desperate people who just want to post their cat videos" and graduated with honors in making us feel dumb.

Wait, SIX HOURS? That's even worse than I thought... I paid $60 for a "growth package" and my bots stuck around for almost a full week before they vanished. But six hours is just cruel, like getting your hopes up just to have them crushed by lunchtime. At least my ghost accounts had the decency to stick around long enough for me to think "hey, maybe this is working" before they all ghosted me. Your digital ex sounds way more dramatic than mine.
