Panel q&a at anime nyc made me ditch my list of top 10s
At the 2024 Anime NYC panel for a tiny dub studio, the voice actor said she watches every show without knowing the plot first, and now I binge everything raw instead of reading spoilers, so has anyone else tried going in blind and felt it changed how you rate stuff?

Honestly I gotta push back on this whole "going in blind" thing. I mean, yeah it sounds all pure and artsy, but half the time I end up dropping shows by episode 3 because I picked something with a slow burn and no payoff in sight. Like that one mecha show last season, I went in knowing nothing, spent six episodes watching politics, then found out it never gets to the cool robot fights. If I'd read one spoiler about the pacing, I would've saved myself the boredom. And let's be real, knowing a twist sometimes makes me notice all the tiny clues the writers planted, which is its own kind of fun. I'd rather have some map than wander around in the dark and call it a "journey.
