Question about buying the full box set of an older anime

I spent about $120 on the complete Blu-ray box for 'Mushishi' a couple months back, thinking it would be a nice permanent copy. In my experience, the picture quality is way better than streaming, and having all the special features is cool. But honestly, I've only watched it once since it arrived, and it's just taking up shelf space. For that price, I could have gotten a year of a streaming service with way more shows. Has anyone else bought a full series set and then kind of regretted the cost versus how much you actually rewatch it?

I mean, paying for the idea of owning it is kind of the whole point with physical media.

Got the whole series of The Office on DVD a while back. I make a point to watch a few episodes every month, usually when I'm doing chores or just want something on in the background. It feels good knowing I can pop it in anytime without worrying about it leaving a streaming service.

My friend bought the whole 'Cowboy Bebop' remastered set for like a hundred bucks. He said the same thing, that it looks amazing, but it's been on his shelf for two years collecting dust. Makes you wonder if we're just paying for the idea of owning it, you know?
