Garage disposal ate a fork, homeowner blamed the machine
Last Tuesday I pulled a bent fork out of a 1/2 hp disposal in a rental unit over in Arlington, and the tenant swore the unit just broke on its own. I charged $85 for the service call plus the fork removal, and the landlord tried to argue it should be warranty work. How do you all handle customers who refuse to admit their own silverware caused the jam?
Man, people will swear on their life that they didn't do something even when it's literally sitting right there in front of them. Kind of reminds me of when my buddy said his car started making a weird noise out of nowhere, turns out he'd been driving with the parking brake on for like two weeks. Anyway, $85 sounds fair for the hassle, good luck getting that landlord to see reason.
