Got into it with a guy at the supply house in Boise about those 'universal' washer couplers.

He swore they were just as good as the OEM part, but I've replaced three of his 'fixes' this month alone. Anyone else find those things fail way faster in high-vibration units?

Oh man, tell me about it. I mean, maybe it's just me but those things are junk on anything with a real motor. Put one on a pressure washer or a commercial mower and it's toast in a week. The metal is too soft, so it just strips out. I'd rather wait for the right part than do the job twice.

Yeah it's like @young.michael said, you see this cheap-out everywhere now. Like furniture that needs an Allen key, the heads just round off if you look at them wrong. Feels like they make stuff to fail fast so you buy more.

Those universal parts are about as reliable as a screen door on a submarine.
