Pro tip: Quit using spray lube on dishwasher door springs three years ago and never looked back
I switched to a dab of silicone grease instead after watching a repair in St. Louis last summer where the tech showed me the before and after on a noisy spring, and now I'm curious who else has made that swap and what they use for the soap dispenser latch?

My buddy Mike tried the silicone grease thing after his spring kept squeaking at like 3am. He used a tiny dab on a q-tip and it stopped making noise for months. Do you just put it on the latch with a toothpick or what?

Ngl, the q-tip method is actually smart because you don't get that gross over-spray all over the place. But I gotta ask - did Mike clean the latch first before he put the grease on? Because if there's old crud under there, you're basically just sealing in the dirt and it'll start squeaking again once that grease dries out. I've been fighting with my pantry door for months and I learned that one the hard way. Also curious how long "months" actually is for him, like 2 months or 6 months? Big difference.

Have you tried a tiny smear of food-grade silicone grease on the latch with a toothpick? That's what works for me and it stays quiet for way longer than spray lube ever did.
