The museum had a 'dig box' for kids that taught me something
I was at the natural history museum in Denver last weekend and watched a kid use a brush wrong on their little sand box. They kept brushing away from the object instead of around it, which I realized is exactly what I see folks doing wrong on real sites. Why does everyone seem to think you brush dirt off instead of away?

You mean they brushed toward the buried object?

Oh actually it was more of a gentle sweep, not a direct brush toward it!

Did you try just slapping a thin layer of poly over it to see if that blends it in enough?
