Update: This coastal survey wrecked my knees for a week
We were mapping shell middens on a rocky shore, and all that crouching left my joints screaming. In my experience, field work can really mess with your body, but this pain has me sidelined. What's your go-to method for dealing with knee strain after long days in the trench?

Remember shell middens are archaeology, not surveying, but yeah that knee pain is the worst.

Archaeology's hunched over digging messes knees up way worse than general field work tbh.

Seriously, crouching on rocks for that long? That's brutal. Even regular digging murders my knees after a while. I can't imagine adding all those uneven surfaces into the mix.
