Can we talk about shop pressure to speed up installs?

Honestly, the Best part of that upfront check is it takes the mental pressure off YOU. When you know the material is good, you can just focus on the craft instead of rushing. That calm focus is what actually makes you faster in the end.

Saw a crew using smart hardhats yesterday and now I have questions

Exactly, that data ownership clause is everything. I've seen cases where the fine print let the company use vitals data against the worker. If you're wearing a tracker, get clear in writing who owns the data before an incident happens. Most workers don't read the consent forms, but that's where they get you. Push for the data to be anonymized or only used for real-time safety alerts, not stored for later. Otherwise, you're just building a case against yourself every shift.

I set a 3 AM alarm for my sourdough, and it let me down

Sourdown failures just show how much daily life runs on false promises. Recipes, traffic reports, even people saying they'll be on time. It's all guesswork dressed up as a plan. Stone.daniel is right about the yeast gods, but really it's everything refusing to follow a schedule. The dough just does what it wants, like the rest of the world.

PSA: I quit using my pocket for extra springs and learned why the hard way

Watched my buddy lose the tiny sear spring from his 1911 right into his shag carpet. He spent twenty minutes on his hands and knees with a flashlight, only finding it stuck to his sock after he gave up. Now he closes all the drains and lays down a towel before he even picks up a punch.
