Finally got my garage workshop bench organized after 4 tries

Last month I spent a whole Saturday out in the garage in Des Moines trying to sort out my workbench. It was just piles of screws, old paint cans, and three different tape measures that all looked the same. I watched a bunch of videos and tried one of those pegboard systems, but that only lasted a week before stuff piled back up. Then last weekend I grabbed some cheap clear bins from the hardware store and labeled them with a marker, no fancy organizer. I sorted everything by project type, not by tool type, which honestly felt kind of backwards at first. Now I can actually find my 10mm socket without digging through a coffee can full of bolts. Has anyone else had to completely redo their bench setup after realizing the old way just didn't stick?

Man, my buddy spent a whole weekend sorting his garage and gave up after two days, just shoved everything back in trash bags!
