My old pressure cooker lid seal gave out while making chili last night
I was about an hour into cooking when I noticed steam leaking from the side instead of the valve. I had to turn everything off and finish it in a regular pot on the stove. Has anyone found a good place to buy replacement seals for older models?

Read that steam from the side means the lid isn't locked right.

Actually, that steam from the side is a safety feature, not just a seal failure. The lid probably wasn't locked into place right. Always double check the lid is fully sealed before the pressure builds.

Seems like a bit much for a little steam. Most people just give it a quick twist and call it good. Hard to imagine that tiny leak being a real danger.

Yeah @holly709 is right about that. Read a thing online where they said that little venting is totally normal if the lid's off a bit. Better safe than sorry for sure.
