PSA: You can call your city's public works for free tree branch pickup
Honestly, I was about to rent a truck and haul like 20 bags of branches to the dump myself. Called the city office in Austin on a whim and they said they'll swing by and grab it all for free if you just stack it curbside. Has anyone else found random free services from their local government that nobody talks about?

Right, cause nothing says "efficient government" like me sweating my butt off hauling brush while they roll up in a city truck to watch me stack it. Guess I'll just leave the mess curbside and see if they actually show up before the squirrels build a condo in it.

Maybe they're trying to help you avoid messing up the disposal schedule or something, idk. Those city workers probably get blamed when people stack brush wrong and it blocks the street or damages the truck. Honestly, a little oversight might save you a fine later if they're actually making sure you're following the rules.
