Serious question, I thought those 'amateur' shots of the Milky Way were all edited to death.

A guy in my local club brought a print from his backyard in Flagstaff, and seeing the actual grain and noise from his old Canon 6D made me a believer.

Without going crazy in editing" is the key part. Some people act like you need a PhD in Photoshop to see the Milky Way. Turns out you just need a dark sky and a decent old camera.

That old 6D sensor was a beast for its time. Seeing the actual print with its grain makes a huge difference compared to a compressed screen image. It proves you can get that real structure without going crazy in editing. Flagstaff's dark skies definitely do the heavy lifting.

Ever try printing your own shots from that camera? I totally agree with @emma455, getting a physical print in your hands shows off that sensor's character way better than any screen. It makes all the difference for seeing the real detail.
