inI used to think a bad power supply was always obvious
Used to brush off those stories as made up forum tales until my own rig started freezing only during video exports. Took me weeks to find a tiny voltage dip on the 12v line when the GPU kicked in. Now I believe every single one of them. Cheap parts might fail more often, but the really weird faults just need the perfect wrong setup to show up.

inThat time a Cessna 172 in Boise taught me to trust my gut over the manual
Ever wonder if the manual's torque specs are for new parts only?

inJust realized I've been ignoring the creek crossings on my maps
Hey @emmamason, that's a solid tip for sure. But I gotta ask, have you ever had the satellite image look totally fine and then you get there and it's a whole different story? I mean, a late storm or a quick warm spell can change a crossing overnight. I've seen a braided channel from June turn into one scary fast channel by July after a hot week. The pictures are a great start, but they're like a snapshot from last week's weather, not a promise.

inGetting crispy air fryer chicken wings took me way longer than any recipe said
Oh, you're so right about that. It's like they all get the same memo to leave out one key step. I've ruined more than one sauce because they didn't mention the cornstarch slurry. It feels like a silly little club where they guard the simple tricks.

inAppreciation post: I just hit 10,000 miles on a set of ceramic wheel bearings I installed myself, which is way more than the 5,000-mile lifespan everyone in the shop told me to expect.
Man, my bearings probably think I'm trying to kill them.
