Shoutout to the old school guys who still stack their deep sky shots manually
I used to spend hours aligning and stacking my Andromeda shots in a free program called DeepSkyStacker, but I switched to a paid one that does it for you about a year ago. Honestly, the auto-stack results feel too clean and I miss the little flaws that made the final image feel like mine. Does anyone else feel like the push for perfect, automated processing is taking some of the soul out of the hobby?

Man, those little flaws were like your astro-photo's fingerprint. Now everything just looks like it came from the same robot factory.

My old 8-inch reflector had this weird coma on the left side of every shot. Gave them so much character. Now my shots look like everyone else's.

My buddy's old scope had this weird star trail thing he could never fix, but it made his shots feel like his. Now he says his new gear just makes perfect, boring pictures.
