Why does nobody talk about how bad cheap gutters clog in Atlanta

I moved into a house in Decatur last year and the previous owner had those snap-together vinyl gutters. After one oak tree season they were full of leaves and seeds and started pulling away from the house. Spent $180 to replace with seamless aluminum - no clogs in 4 months. Has anyone else had the same issue with the snap-together kind?

Yeah those snap together ones are junk for oak trees.

Heard a guy from a gutter company on the radio saying those snap together ones are basically just fancy leaf collectors, especially around here with all the oaks. He said the seams are the weak spot where stuff gets caught and then it just builds up fast. Sounds like your $180 was a solid investment, seamless is the way to go, I did the same thing and haven't had to touch mine since.

hannah_west39 nailed it with "fancy leaf collectors." I got the same problem with my snap together ones in Smyrna. The seams filled up so fast with oak leaves and those little helicopter seeds it was insane. After one storm the whole thing was sagging and I had to get seamless too. Night and day difference, I can actually see the bottom of my gutters now.
