Fender fixes: my switch from repair to replacement
I used to fix every fender, but now I replace them for speed and quality. What's your view?

Three weeks for a screen fix is wild, but how bad are these fenders really getting? @jason_davis has a point that a proper repair holds up, so maybe the rush to replace is for like, totally smashed ones only. Most daily rash doesn't need a whole new panel.

Actually, a good repair is just as solid, it just takes more time.

That extra time you mentioned is like three weeks for a simple screen fix. Nobody's waiting that long for a so-called solid repair.

Tell you what, three weeks is nuts for a screen, but for a fender? Jason_davis is right about a good repair holding up. The real trick is finding a shop that does good work without taking a month. I'd rather wait an extra week for a fix that looks right than get a fast, bad replacement that never lines up. Most body shops around here would have that fender fixed and painted in under ten days if it's just bent, not torn.
