Guy at the NAPA counter swore by this cheap filler
Told me to use Evercoat Metal Glaze on a deep scratch on my personal truck and it shrank back like crazy after sanding, now I gotta redo the whole panel and I'm out 4 hours of work, anyone else had issues with that stuff?

Calling that stuff filler is generous, it's more like a skim coat for tiny pinholes not deep gouges. I've seen guys blame the product when they just laid it on too thick in one shot without letting it flash properly. Might be worth checking your technique before you swear off the brand completely.

Oh man, I actually read somewhere that stuff is basically just a thin glaze not meant for filling anything deep. Some old body guy told me it's for fixing tiny sand scratches or pinholes, not actual dents or gouges. Bet it wouldve worked fine if you just did a lighter coat over a proper filler.
