Had a guy ask me to fix his car with duct tape once at my shop in Phoenix
He pulled into my shop outside Phoenix last July and swore a couple strips of duct tape would hold his bumper on 'til payday. I showed him the cracked mounting brackets and he still insisted I just 'tape it good'. Has anyone else had a customer try to talk you into a repair that made no sense at all?

That duct tape would've melted right off in that July heat.

Man, you're not kidding. Tried the same thing on a lawn chair one August afternoon and it turned into goo within an hour. Absolutely useless stuff when the sun's actually out.

Did you ever wonder if duct tape companies secretly market it as a miracle fix just to watch people like @wright.leo suffer the consequences? I swear it only works in infomercials filmed in climate-controlled studios. Real world heat turns it into a sticky, useless mess that just makes everything worse.
