That pin 11 ground loop on Collins comms kept eating my lunch

I kept getting intermittent squelch issues on a King Air install last month, swapped three units before I realized the ground strap was sharing a pin with a nav antenna return. Has anyone else chased a phantom fault that was just a shared ground path?
