Pro tip: don't ignore the warning signs when a vendor's API starts acting up
Our main CRM vendor pushed an update on a Tuesday and by Thursday we noticed leads weren't syncing. Took three days to figure out the API key had rotated without any notice, so our scoring tool was pulling old data. We lost about 12 hours of leads before catching it, and now I'm stuck manually reconciling the list. Has anyone else dealt with a vendor that changes things silently like this, and how do you protect against it without adding a ton of extra work?
That Tuesday to Thursday gap is rough, and losing 12 hours of leads on top of three days of digging just makes it worse. Vendors rotating keys or changing things without a heads up is way too common, and you usually find out the hard way. Sorry you're stuck with the manual cleanup, that part always falls on the person who caught it.
