Shoutout to that old trail near Asheville I forgot about for 5 years

Last weekend I hiked the Art Loeb Trail again after not touching it since 2019. I used to do that 30 mile stretch every fall but life got busy with work and stuff. The trail markers are faded now and there is a new bypass around some washed out bridges. Has anyone else gone back to an old route and found it totally different than you remembered?

Yo the Art Loeb is no joke, I did that trail back in 2017 and it kicked my butt lol. I went back a couple years ago and it felt like a completely different beast with all the storm damage and reroutes. The washed out bridges are rough, I had to scramble up a muddy bank last time. It's wild how fast nature reclaims stuff when you're not looking.
