Can we talk about plastic shed floors rotting out?

The floor in my 8x10 shed completely gave way last week after 3 years, dumping my lawn mower into the mud. Has anyone found a solid way to reinforce these or should I just build a wood base from scratch?

That exact thing happened with my old shed. Ended up pulling the whole plastic floor out and putting down pressure-treated 2x4s on concrete blocks as a frame. Filled it with gravel for drainage and then laid outdoor-rated plywood on top. It was a weekend project but it's been solid for five years now, no rot at all. The gravel underneath really helps keep things dry.

Did you seal the plywood or just leave it as is?

That gravel layer is a smart move. Read somewhere that even pressure treated wood can wick moisture up from concrete if it's sitting right on it. The air gap from the blocks plus the drainage probably makes a huge difference. Outdoor plywood is good but adding a coat of deck sealant every couple years wouldn't hurt either. Seems like a solid build that should last a long time.
