Saw a neighbor's plastic shed buckle after 2 winters in Wisconsin, while another guy's metal one looks fine after 5 years

Is the extra upfront cost of metal storage sheds really worth it over plastic ones, or did my neighbor just pick a bad brand and the whole material debate is overblown?

Metal sheds just look better holding their ground than plastic ones pretending to be architecture. Your neighbor's shed probably folded faster than cheap lawn chairs at a family reunion. Five years of Wisconsin winters would turn a plastic shed into modern art. Stick with metal unless you like watching your storage slowly surrender to gravity.

Did your neighbor bolt it down right, @torres.blair? Plastic sheds work if you anchor them.

My plastic shed tilted sideways after one winter, looked like it was trying to wave goodbye to me. Metal cost me more upfront but it's still standing straight so I'd say it's worth it.
