That 2-hour rant about plastic packaging finally clicked after my Amazon order
I used to think the whole zero-waste thing was just rich people showing off. Then last month I got a delivery with three layers of plastic for a phone case the size of my palm. I tried the simple trick of just writing to the seller asking for less packaging, and they actually said they'd start using paper mailers. It wasn't some big movement, just one email that got a real response. Has anyone else had luck getting a brand to change packing after a single complaint?

but honestly @alice928, you're not wrong that one seller switching doesnt fix the whole system, but thats kinda the point. like if every customer who got a dumb amount of packaging sent one quick email, you'd see way more brands change than you think. most companies just default to the cheapest option and never hear anyone complain so they assume nobody cares. i got a reply within two days from a small brand and they said theyd already been thinking about it but needed the push. sure its not gonna solve climate change overnight but its better than just rage posting about it and doing nothing. small wins stack up even if theyre not perfect.
