Spent 6 hours trying to get my sourdough starter to double in size before I realized my kitchen was too drafty

Moved it into the pantry next to the water heater and it finally took off, has anyone else had a weird environmental issue mess with their rise times?

Drafty kitchen" is just bread's way of telling you to move in with the water heater. At least you figured it out before you threw the whole starter in the trash.

A buddy of mine actually kept his starter in the microwave for a month.
