Just tried to make a mirror glaze for a cake and ended up with a weird, rubbery sheet.

I followed a recipe from a baking blog exactly, but after chilling it for 3 hours, the glaze peeled off the cake in one piece like a weird fruit roll-up, so what's the secret to getting it to actually stick?

That exact thing happened to me with a recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction. Honestly, the secret is pouring it on a barely warm cake, not a cold one. The temperature difference makes it grab on instead of just setting up on top.
