That time I compared 20 year old clippers to a new set from the same brand
I finally swapped my old Wahl clippers for the new model last month after a guy who cuts 40 heads a week showed me his blade never heats up, and now I'm wondering how many cuts I ruined with dull metal before I switched.

lol it's wild how we just accept things wearing down slowly until we actually see what we've been missing. Same thing happened with my kitchen knives - used a dull one for years thinking that's just how it is, then got one sharp and felt like an idiot.

Same thing happens with my toothbrush, don't notice till you get a new one.

and I swear I read somewhere that our brains just literally adjust to gradual change like that, it's like the whole boiling frog thing but with everyday stuff. @phoenix_martin40 you nailed it about the kitchen knives, I had the exact same wake up call with my car's windshield wipers last month. been driving around with streaks for months thinking it was just rain, then replaced them and realized I couldn't see crap before. it's honestly kind of scary how much we just get used to things being worse than they should be.
