Why does the reporting on that factory closure ignore the union history?
Idk, but the headlines make it seem sudden when it's not.

The headlines making it seem sudden hides how long the union was FIGHTING bad management. Media might skip that history because it paints the closure as a win for corporate cost-cutting, not a sudden event. That framing lets companies off the hook for years of problems they caused.

But sometimes a shutdown really is sudden, like when a key client pulls out overnight. The full story might just show a business hit a wall it couldn't see coming. Not every bad end has a five year paper trail.

I read a piece last week that tracked the union's complaints back five years. It showed a clear pattern of ignored safety reports and pay disputes. That full story really changes how you see the headline about the "sudden" shutdown.

Ever wonder how many news stories we only read the headlines for? It takes real digging to find the full timeline like Barbara did, instead of just the "sudden" event they sell you. Guess that's why my understanding of most things is about two inches deep.
