That one customer who insisted his brakes were making a 'singing' noise
Had a guy bring his bike in last month claiming his disc brakes were 'harmonizing' on descents, and when I took it for a test ride it was just a loose rotor bolt rattling at exactly 40 mph. Anyone else get customers who describe mechanical issues like they're reviewing a concert?

Brakes were 'harmonizing'" - yeah that one hits close to home. Best advice I can give is to always take the bike for a quick spin yourself before diving in, saves you from chasing phantom noises that don't exist. Nine times out of ten it's just a loose bolt or a bit of dirt on the pad.

Oh man, "harmonizing" is a new one on me, that's almost artistic. Gotta say though, taking it for a spin first is good advice but sometimes the noise only happens under specific conditions like speed or load, so a quick parking lot lap won't catch everything. Still beats wasting an hour chasing a ghost noise that was just a loose valve stem.
