Binged all 5 seasons of The Expanse in 10 days and hit a wall

I work IT help desk and usually fall asleep after 2 episodes, but last month I got hooked on The Expanse. Problem was I couldn't keep the factions straight after season 2 - Mars, Belt, Earth, all the politics. What worked was keeping a little notebook open on my phone with character names and their groups, like a cheat sheet. It made season 3 way easier to follow and I finished way faster. Anybody else use a system like this for dense shows?

idk, i actually get where you're coming from but the notebook thing kinda worked for me too. i did the same with Game of Thrones back in the day just jotting down who was who and what house they were in. it made rewatching way less frustrating.

Yeah my sister did that with GoT too and it saved so much confusion.

I just don't see how that's fun honestly... you're basically turning a TV show into homework with that notebook idea. If you can't follow the factions without a cheat sheet, maybe the show just isn't for you. I mean, I got lost too in season 4 with the whole Marco situation, but I just rewatched those episodes and figured it out naturally. Stopping to check notes every five minutes would kill the flow for me.
