Just realized a late pizza guy got me hooked on a baking show
I always thought cooking shows were dull. The delivery was taking forever, and his car TV was playing a cake competition. I stood there watching through his window and got totally invested. Ended up streaming all seasons that week, and my kitchen is now a disaster zone.

How bad is your kitchen disaster zone right now? I got into baking shows the same way, my aunt had one on at a family thing and I got totally sucked in. My counter looked like a flour bomb went off for weeks, and I once tried to make a fancy braided bread that came out looking like a burnt pretzel. It's crazy how these shows make everything look so easy when it's really just a mess waiting to happen.

Editing magic hides the real chaos behind baking shows. They cut out the dozen burnt batches and hours of dishwashing. No wonder our kitchens look like war zones compared to TV perfection.

Actually, you're both right about the mess but I think Harper missed Elizabeth's main point about the editing. They don't just cut out the burnt batches, they fake the "mess" shots too. That flour dusted on the counter between scenes? That's a stylist, not a baker. Have you ever spotted a cut where the mess magically changes?

Ever notice how the spilled sugar is in a perfect circle? They sprinkle it like fairy dust between takes. I saw a clip where a mixing bowl was clean, then dirty, then clean again in three shots. It's all staged chaos, not real baking. Makes you wonder if they even turn the oven on sometimes.
