The 'Dark' finale almost made me quit the show for good

I was at my place in Denver, three seasons deep into 'Dark'. The finale started. They introduced a whole new world in the last 20 minutes. Felt like a total cheat. I actually paused it and walked away for a week. Came back, finished it, still hated it. It ruined a perfectly good time loop story. Anyone else feel like a show's ending completely wrecked the binge?

Totally get that. I had a similar meltdown with the Lost finale years ago. All those mysteries just got a church and some light. I felt cheated out of my time. What saved it for me was reading fan theories online. Some folks had these wild, cool ideas that were way better than the real ending. I just decided their version was my new head canon. It let me keep the good parts of the show without the bad taste.

Oh man, "cheated out of my time" is the perfect way to put it, @linda_reed. I did the same thing with that show, reading all those fan theories that were way more clever. My head canon got so detailed, I'm pretty sure I started confusing my own made-up stuff with things that actually happened on screen. Who needs the real ending when you can just live in a better version you built yourself, right?
