Just realized I was taking magnesium glycinate all wrong for 6 months

I was taking it right before bed like everyone says, but kept waking up at 3 AM. A guy at my gym in Austin mentioned he takes his 400 mg with lunch instead to avoid the laxative effect at night. Tried it for a week and now I'm sleeping through the night for the first time in forever. Has anyone else had better results switching up their supplement timing?

Wait, you were taking 400 mg of magnesium glycinate at night? That's way more than what most people need to take at once. Most folks I know split their doses or take way less at bedtime. I'm honestly surprised it didn't mess with your stomach worse than just waking up early.

My friend Jen from my yoga class had the exact same issue - she was taking 300 mg before bed and waking up at 2 AM like clockwork, but she @phoenix_singh25 and switched to 200 mg with dinner and the difference was night and day for her sleep.
