Shoutout to my old coal forge for teaching me about fire control
I used to fight a dirty, smoky fire for years, thinking that was just how it was. Then I switched to a propane forge about six months ago and the clean, even heat is a total game changer for my scrollwork. Anyone else make the switch and find it changed what they could make?

Propane forges are great for some things, but you lose the soul of the metal without a coal fire.

Didn't @miles_robinson20 feel that way until my first propane forge showed me cleaner heat control?

I used to believe the coal fire was part of the craft. The propane forge just lets me focus on the metal itself, and my work got way cleaner.
