One harsh edit note about my jump cut habit changed how I cut everything now
Posted a clip of my cat knocking over my camera setup. Someone commented that my jump cuts every 2 seconds made it unwatchable. They said it felt like a seizure, not a blooper. I rewatched my last 10 posts. They were right, I used 18 cuts in a 40 second video. Now I hold shots longer and only cut on action. It feels slower to me but the comments are way nicer. Anyone else get a gut punch from a random viewer that actually fixed your editing style?
Man, that commenter probably saved your channel and didn't even know it. I had the same thing happen but with my audio, someone told me my music was louder than my voice and I got so mad until I realized they were right. Now I watch every cut like it owes me money, gotta earn its spot lol. It's wild how your brain gets used to your own bad habits until a random person just calls it out. Humbling but honestly the best free advice you'll ever get.
