Used to freeze frame news bloopers on my DVR, now I just screenshot the closed caption typos
Caught one on CNN last Tuesday where the caption read "the mayor was shot in the leg" instead of "the mayor was short in the leg" and my wife and I rewound it 6 times laughing. Anyone else notice captions have gotten way funnier than the actual on air mistakes lately?
That mayor caption is brutal but I can totally see how you two lost it for 6 rewinds. My husband and I do the same thing now, we paused a local news caption last month that said "police are looking for a man with a large cat" when they meant cap. Live captions are typed so fast that the mix-ups come out way better than any scripted joke.
