My uncle told me to always use hot glue for headbands

He said it sets fast and holds better than PVA. Tried it on a small run of 50 notebooks last month. The glue got brittle after two weeks, three covers popped right off. Now I'm back to my usual method with a slow set adhesive. Anyone have a better fix for quick headband work that actually lasts?

That hot glue trick only works for temporary stuff like costumes. For books, you really need a flexible adhesive like PVA or a specific headband glue.

Remember that guy who tried to hot glue his favorite paperback back together? It looked okay for a week, then he opened it and the whole spine just cracked. Pages started falling out like leaves. He had to re-buy the book.

My friend learned the hard way that hot glue fails on headbands too.
