Had a convo with a guy at the laundromat that made me rethink AI stuff
Was folding my shirts at the 24hr wash place on 3rd street last Tuesday and this older dude starts talking my ear off about his "virtual assistant". Said it helped him write letters to his grandkids and plan meals. I was about to dismiss it as some bot nonsense but then he showed me how he uses it to check his insulin readings and refill scripts. Hit different seeing someone use it for actually real life stuff instead of just making fake art or whatever. Anyone else ran into someone using this tech for something that actually matters to them?

Download a voice app that reads med labels out loud. My grandpa uses one for his pills and it saved him from mixing them up twice now.

Wait, @quinn161, you got the idea right but the execution's a bit off. Those apps are great for scanning barcodes on pill bottles, but they don't usually read the actual labels unless you take a picture of them. And most of them need good lighting and a steady hand to work right, which older folks don't always have. Your grandpa might be using one that scans the bottle's barcode, not the label text itself. Either way, glad it worked for him.
