Three years ago I could scroll TikTok for an hour and actually laugh, now its all fake crying and product plugs
I swear the algorithm used to serve up genuine stupidity but now every other video is someone shilling a detox tea or pretending to sob over a sponsored giveway. Has anyone else noticed the platform turned into a nonstop infomercial since 2022?

Man the shift has been brutal. I miss when it was just people doing dumb stuff or weird niche humor that made you feel like you were in on some inside joke. Now it's all these polished videos with the same tired script and that desperate "like and subscribe" energy. Every time I open the app I see someone crying on their floor about a "life update" that's just a segue into their Amazon storefront. It feels like the soul got sucked out and replaced with a cash register button. I almost never find those raw, genuine moments anymore where someone is just being themselves without trying to pitch something. You're not alone in noticing this, it's been a slow death of anything actually entertaining.

I read somewhere that TikTok actually pays creators way more for these sob story videos.
