Tried doing a 30-day no scrolling challenge and my brain felt foggy by day 5

I thought quitting short videos cold turkey would fix my attention span, but I actually felt more out of it sitting in silence during breaks. By day 10 I caved and watched one 15 second clip and it felt like a relief lol. Is it really that the content is rotting our brains or are we just using it wrong?

Used to preach digital detox. Now I get it, you just rewired your downtime.

Is it bad that my brain feels less foggy just knowing I'm not alone in this? Like I tried replacing doomscroll breaks with "reading a book" and ended up staring at the same page for 20 minutes while my thumb twitched for the swipe. Day 7 I literally whispered "okay boomer" to my own reflection in the bathroom mirror for no reason. Maybe we're not rotting our brains, we just forgot how to sit with our own thoughts and now we're bad at it haha.
