My big mistake with chicken thighs for years

I used to buy boneless, skinless chicken breasts because I thought they were the 'good' part, even though they cost almost $8 a pound at my store. I'd struggle to make them taste good without a ton of extra stuff. Then, about six months ago, I was grabbing my usual pack and a guy next to me in line said, 'You know, the thighs are half the price and twice the flavor.' I laughed it off, but I tried a pack of bone-in, skin-on thighs the next week for $3.50 a pound. The difference was crazy. They stayed juicy no matter what I did, and the skin gets crispy in the oven. I was wasting money and effort for a long time just because I had a dumb idea about what was better. Has anyone else had a food switch like that save them cash?

Honestly, I just assumed fancy packaging meant better chicken. My logic was that bad. I went skinless because I thought it was the "right" way, like some cooking show. Turns out I was just overpaying for the privilege of doing extra work. The bone-in ones are way better and cheaper, so I was wrong on every level.

What took you so long to figure it out? The price difference alone should have been a huge clue. Did you ever try cooking them with the bone in, or did you go straight for skinless?
