Yeah, @alexperry is right about the simple swaps. I started adding a scoop of peanut butter to my morning oatmeal and it totally fixed that 3pm crash for me.

Wait you CUT OUT your afternoon coffee and it HELPED? That's wild, I would have bet money it would make things worse. I always grab a latte at 2 like clockwork thinking it'll push me through. The idea that skipping it could actually fix the crash feels backwards but I guess it makes sense if the crash was from the earlier caffeine wearing off. Might have to try a week without and see what happens.

That afternoon slump really shows how little fixes can beat big overhauls. I see the same when people swap soda for seltzer and get steady energy all day. Why do we always reach for complicated solutions first?

Honestly that soda to seltzer swap is such a perfect example. I used to crash hard every day around 3 and tried all sorts of stuff. Then I just cut out my afternoon coffee, which felt too simple to work, and my energy leveled out so much. We're kinda trained to think the answer has to be a big life change or some special product, so we skip the obvious stuff.
