Hit $500 on a single flight booking by using 3 different apps at once
I was booking a trip to Denver last week and my normal go-to sites were all showing $380-$420 round trip. On a whim I checked Hopper, then Kayak, then Skyscanner for the exact same dates. Hopper had a price alert for a drop that wasn't showing up on the other two. I booked through Hopper for $302, then used a cash back app called Fetch that gave me 8% back on travel this month. Then I combined it with a $50 gift card I got from work. Final out of pocket was $251. I just sat there staring at my phone. Has anyone else managed to stack savings like that or did I just get lucky?

Wait, isn't that just a lot of effort to save a hundred bucks?

Hear you @casey818, sometimes it's more about the principle than the actual savings.

Honestly it's not that much effort once you get used to it. I do the same thing with hotels and rental cars now because the apps don't always show the same prices for the same dates. @richard_young80 is right that sometimes you just gotta hunt for it. I made a habit of checking Hopper first for the price alerts then comparing it to Kayak just to see if the cash back apps will stack.
