My backpack zipper gave out halfway through a trip to Denver last month
I was walking from the bus station to my hostel when the main zipper on my old Jansport just split open. Everything fell out into a puddle on the sidewalk. I spent 20 minutes picking up wet socks and maps while people stepped around me. That night I found a sewing shop and bought a cheap repair kit for 8 bucks. I stitched the zipper shut and used the bag like a duffel the rest of the trip. Has anyone else had a bag fall apart on the road and had to rig something quick?

Did you at least find a souvenir in that puddle to remember your trip by?
