My flight to Lisbon cost $300 less just by shifting my dates two days

I was looking at a trip for late August and the direct flight was over $800. I moved my departure from a Friday to the following Tuesday and the price dropped to $495 for the same airline. It seems the weekend demand really drives up the cost. Has anyone else found a specific day of the week that's usually cheaper for flying out of your city?

Interesting find but my experience is different. Flying out on a Tuesday from my city is often the most expensive day. I've had better luck with Thursday flights for some reason. It really depends on the airline and the route.

Yeah, feels like all the old rules are just gone now.

Used to swear by Wednesday flights from Chicago, always seemed cheapest. Booked a trip to Denver last month and the Wednesday price was insane. Checked a Thursday departure on a whim and saved almost two hundred bucks. Now I check every single day, the pattern just isn't reliable anymore.

That's what @ryan793 found too, it's all route specific now.
