Just realized my auto insurance had been overcharging me for 3 years

I was sitting at my desk in Columbus going over old bank statements and noticed my premium jumped $35 a month back in 2022, so I called them up and got them to refund me $1,260 after proving they never updated my driving record - anyone else get dinged by a lazy agent who didnt fix their file?

Used to think they never messed up, but this story changed my mind.

David_reed22 nailed it - that $35 a month trick is the kind of small, sneaky stuff companies rely on. It reminds me of how auto-renew subscriptions or "free trials" that require a card upfront have become so common now. People just don't check their statements close enough and that's exactly what they're banking on.

$35 a month for 3 years is wild. Idk how they think people won't notice that.
