Showerthought: comparing my $60 meal prep kit to my $25 grocery haul

I spent $60 on one of those meal prep delivery boxes last week and it was convenient but the portions were tiny. Yesterday I went to Aldi and got enough chicken, rice, and frozen veggies for 5 lunches for only $25. Same amount of cooking time too since I just batch it on Sunday. Has anyone else found the prep kits to be a total ripoff or am I missing something?

Figured the exact same thing a few months ago when I tried HelloFresh on a discount. The chicken breast they sent looked like it came from a tiny bird and the garlic butter was a joke. Went back to my Aldi haul of drumsticks, brown rice, and frozen broccoli which costs me like $20 and lasts the whole work week. The only thing I miss is not having to chop my own garlic but saving forty bucks is worth the extra five minutes.
